Connor started speech therapy this month. Based on his performance during the initial assessment in November, Connor wouldn’t have even qualified for speech therapy if he wasn’t hearing impaired. His communication and cognitive development was above average for his age. In order to make sure he continues to develop on track, he is receiving speech therapy twice per month. His two sessions this month were more “getting to know you” sessions, but the real work starts in January!
As far as his hearing, he is doing great with the hearing aid. Based on periodic audiology tests, he is hearing at normal levels with his aid. Connor leaves the hearing aid on for the most part, but does have his moments when he yanks the band off of his head. I guess he’s just tired of hearing his Momma and Dadda telling him to stop playing in Ezra’s food!

SNOW DAY 2008
It happened. The largest snowfall in 20 years. Over an inch of snow fell in Metairie and was able to stick on lawns, cars, roofs and more for most of the day. More than two hours of steady snowfall dusted the area on the morning of December 11th, a rare treat that delighted just about everyone. It was sleeting early in the morning but as Lori was driving over to drop Connor off at Lynn's (his sitter) she saw the first flakes fall from the sky. Then the sparse flakes began getting more frequent and heavier. Around 9:30 was the heaviest stuff with big snowflakes falling. And then everything abruptly stopped but the fun was just beginning. All the kids got out in the yard and made a snowman and snow angles.

The next two pictures are from a friend who decided to make a trip uptown to take some picture of the streetcars.

It was a very memorable day in New Orleans that hopefully won't wait another 20 years to come back. And next time can it happen on a weekend??
Momma & Connor as the snow starts to fall

When the snow first started, all the kids went out in it. Well their clothes got all wet and they had to go inside while the clothes were being dried. Connor made a jailbreak to get back into mix.

Connor is sad to see this day coming to an end. And possibly has a nap in his future??

Fulton Street Lights
We took a ride down to Fulton Street so Connor could look at all of the lights and see the "snow". Unfortunately it didn't snow that night but Connor still had a great time walking around.
Thanksgiving 2008
We went to Baton Rouge for Thanksgiving to visit with all of the Wade clan. We all ate too much but had a great time visiting with everyone.
The "Tot Lot"
Jefferson Parish has taken some space at the old Bonnabel Boat launch and opened a dog park and an 11,000-square-foot “Tot Lot” playground for little ones, with picnic tables and drinking fountains, as well as play equipment built over a carpet of protective outdoor surfacing. We visited on a cold blustery day as you can see from the pictures.

Halloween 2008
Connor dressed as Lil' Drew Brees for his Halloween Party at his sitter's house. That night he switched costumes to Winnie the Pooh and we went trick or treating in the old neigborhood with the Moncriefs.
