Connor started speech therapy this month. Based on his performance during the initial assessment in November, Connor wouldn’t have even qualified for speech therapy if he wasn’t hearing impaired. His communication and cognitive development was above average for his age. In order to make sure he continues to develop on track, he is receiving speech therapy twice per month. His two sessions this month were more “getting to know you” sessions, but the real work starts in January!
As far as his hearing, he is doing great with the hearing aid. Based on periodic audiology tests, he is hearing at normal levels with his aid. Connor leaves the hearing aid on for the most part, but does have his moments when he yanks the band off of his head. I guess he’s just tired of hearing his Momma and Dadda telling him to stop playing in Ezra’s food!
